Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of Localtools (localtools.co), run by an independent developer based in the Republic of Korea (“we”). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The service

The tools are free for personal and commercial use and need no account. We may change, add or remove tools, or suspend the site, at any time and without notice.

Your content

Files, text and other inputs you use with the tools are processed on your device; we never receive them. You keep all rights to them and to the results you create. You are responsible for having the right to use the files and content you process. Our Privacy Policy explains what data is processed when you visit the site.

Results are for information only

We work to keep the tools accurate, and their calculations are checked by automated tests, but the site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability.

Results are estimates for general information. They are not professional, legal, medical, financial, tax, academic or employment advice. In particular:

  • age and date calculations can differ from how a law, contract or institution counts days, ages or deadlines;
  • GPA conversions may not match the method a particular school or employer uses;
  • compound interest results ignore taxes, fees, inflation and changing rates, and are not investment advice;
  • time card and pay estimates are not payroll and do not reflect overtime rules, breaks or deductions that apply to you;
  • device tests (webcam, microphone, keyboard, screen) show what your browser reports and do not diagnose hardware.

Before making important decisions, check with a qualified professional or an official source.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

  • break the law or infringe others’ rights when using the tools;
  • try to disrupt, overload, probe or attack the site or its infrastructure;
  • use automated means to access the site in a way that puts an unreasonable load on it;
  • copy the site’s text, design or code in bulk, or present it as your own;
  • interfere with the ads, or click ads artificially.

Our content

The site’s text, design, code and logo belong to the operator or its licensors. You may link to any page. Open-source components remain under their own licences.

The site may show ads served by Google and may link to other websites. Those third parties are responsible for their own content, products and privacy practices; we do not endorse them.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profit or business, arising from your use of the site or its results. Because the service is free, our total liability for any other loss is limited to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for intent or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law, and nothing affects the mandatory rights you have as a consumer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts the law allows you to use.

Other terms

If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a term right away, we do not give up the right to do so later.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed, and changes take effect when published. If you keep using the site after a change, the updated terms apply.
